I am an active member of the LMMA in Ambolobozokely and I also play the role of advisor to guide and explain the rules to the community members.By attending the various meetings organized by C3 in our village, I was convinced by the activities of their project and I decided to join. Also, I noticed that since C3's interventions, people are beginning to change their behavior and take more responsibility for the protection of the resources, for example, they participate in restoration activities or request for authorization to cut some wood in the forests (for needs).

About
Locally led conservation and sustainable development in Madagascar since 2009.
C3 Madagascar is a Malagasy non-profit organisation working with coastal communities to conserve marine and coastal biodiversity while strengthening local livelihoods and resilience.
Established in northern Madagascar in 2009, we work alongside communities, government agencies, schools and local organisations to develop practical solutions that respond to local priorities. Our work spans locally managed marine areas, sustainable fisheries, endangered species, mangroves and blue carbon, environmental education, and community livelihoods.

Our Approach
We believe conservation works best when local communities have the knowledge, skills, resources and authority to manage the places on which they depend.
C3 Madagascar is locally based and locally governed. We combine long-term community relationships with scientific and technical expertise, helping communities design, implement and monitor conservation and development initiatives that can continue beyond the life of individual projects.
Our approach links biodiversity conservation with the everyday priorities of coastal communities — including livelihoods, education, governance, access to services and climate resilience.
Our Impact
Over more than fifteen years, C3 Madagascar has worked with coastal communities to strengthen locally led conservation, improve marine resource management, restore coastal habitats and engage young people in environmental stewardship.
Our work has supported community-managed conservation areas, trained fishers and local environmental leaders, strengthened schools and community organisations, and helped develop approaches that can be replicated across Madagascar.
